Note on law school admissions: Unlike medical school admissions, law school applicants are evaluated almost entirely on LSAT score and undergraduate GPA. LSAT is the great equalizer — a 174 from any school opens the same doors. GPA protection (18%) and Pre-law advising (8%) are weighted accordingly. The four plan-B / strategy pivot variables (MLS, MBA/MPP, BA/JD, Joint Mx/JD) total 22% — set all to 0% for a pure JD-track ranking.
Tier classification: Schools labeled "T14 Affiliated" are universities whose affiliated law schools consistently rank within the top 14 nationally (Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, UChicago, NYU, Penn, Michigan, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, Georgetown, UT Austin, Vanderbilt). Schools labeled "Top 50 Affiliated" are universities with law schools ranked 15–50. Note that UC Berkeley and UVA sometimes appear in T14 rankings depending on the year — they are conservatively placed in Top 50 Affiliated here.
